Well, this day was off to a rather slow start. We tried to get up early, but 9am was the best we could do. Not bad considering we had our last “spring ahead” hour last night. Definitely taking a cruise that “falls back” next time around.
We did breakfast and lunch at Topsiders. I was so cold (I know, what’s new). For some crazy reason I chose to spend time in a comfy lounger outside of Cove Café – key word there is outside. The folks around me were bundled up in blankets from their staterooms. I toughed it out in a simple sweatshirt. The highlight? I actually finished reading one book!!!! Julie & Julia. (Thanks, Heather!) The hardest part about this book was reading about preparing exotic French cuisine right after dining at Palo’s (that was a few days ago). Fun story though.
Seas were remarkably calm today. We spotted a number of other ships nearby. One yacht even sent a helicopter over to check us out! Several folks reported seeing dolphins and sea turtles.
This is our 7th sea day. For reasons unknown to both of us, Michael and I were both feeling a bit melancholy. Perhaps it is because we are on the downside of our vacation? Who knows.
One sure cure for the blues, however, is a rum tasting. Wheee! We tasted four different rums (and I polished off each and every one). Mike answered a question correctly and won a refreshingly delicious mojito for me. I finished that up just before I started typing this blog edition. Cezar tempted me with dancing a samba; I considered it briefly and then thought better of it. (Maybe I need another mojito.) Can you tell? I’m feeling just dandy. More accurately, I’m not feeling a thing.

I forgot to mention we dropped by the art auction this afternoon (before the rum tasting). This was a special one-time event auctioning Don “Ducky” Williams’ pieces. Gorgeous artwork, but definitely out of our price range. We ran into two of our dinner tablemates, Tami and Kim. We were all careful not to talk with our hands for fear the auctioneer would think we just bid thousands of dollars on something we totally can’t afford!
American Idol fans would have enjoyed this evening’s show. Justin Guarini and Brooke White performed. I didn’t know anything about either of them; Mike chose not to attend at all. They were entertaining, but certainly not the best show we’ve seen this trip.
Dinner tonight was in Animator’s Palate. I actually had a relatively light meal: soup and a Cobb salad. One significant change I’ve noticed with the nightly menus is the addition of at least one lighter selection (like a meal-size salad).

Alice in Wonderland in 3D was playing in the theater again tonight, but we decided to try to get to sleep since we have an early start tomorrow morning.
