Disney World theme parks have lots of rules — both written and unwritten — from what guests can bring in, how they should spend their day, and even the best things to wear.

Speaking of what guests can wear, those rules are even more strict at Disney’s water parks, which have standards on the dos and don’ts of swimwear, and — our focus today — shoes.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach — which opened as Walt Disney World’s third water park back in 1995 — does allow certain types of water shoes, and we’d definitely recommend a pair. They provide necessary protection from walking barefoot on the hot pavement, and are hard to misplace since they can be worn on the majority of the park’s rides. Of the few where shoes need to be removed, they can be held for the duration.

However, that being said, you can’t just wear any water shoes on the park’s ride. They need to be in a flexible pull-on style, and most importantly, feature no buckles, zippers, rivets, or any other accoutrements that could potentially get stuck.

Acceptable pairs can be found at the park’s gift shop, but you can also pick them up beforehand on Amazon. Specifically, these ATHMILE Water Socks fit the bill!

Available in multiple colorways, the shoes are made from a breathable, quick-dry, elastic fabric.

They also feature an anti-slip sole specifically designed to “protect your feet from sharp things like rocks, shells, and gravel, and also prevent burns from hot sand in beach or water park,” according to the manufacturer, making them ideal to walk through the faux melting ski resort environment of Blizzard Beach.
Next time you’re gearing up for a Walt Disney World trip that includes a stop at Blizzard Beach, perhaps as part of the first day free water park hotel perk, be sure to keep water shoes that comply with the park’s rules on your packing list. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney World tips!
