Marina Bay Sands Room Tour: Is This Iconic Hotel Worth the Hype?

We recently had the chance to visit one of the most iconic hotels in the world, and boy, do we have lots to share!

We flew out to Singapore to check out the brand new addition to the Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Adventure, and during our visit, we stayed at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore hotel. This luxury 5-star hotel is incredible, and we wanted to take you on a tour of the room we stayed in!

Marina Bay Sands is one of those hotels that lives rent-free in your head long before you ever book a trip to Singapore.

You’ve seen that futuristic rooftop infinity pool floating above the city skyline in what feels like every travel photo ever taken, and at some point, you start wondering what it’s actually like to stay there. As we said, we recently got the chance to find out firsthand, and we’re taking you inside our room so you know exactly what to expect before you go.

Marina Bay Sands Double Queen Bed Room

The two queen beds are the focal point of the room, and right across from them is a massive wall-mounted TV that even greeted us by name when we walked in. It is a great setup if you want to wind down after a long day of sightseeing around Singapore.

The beds themselves are incredibly comfortable, and the room has a clean, modern aesthetic that feels very much in line with the hotel’s overall upscale vibe.

Each bed features four pillows, and the headboard has built-in light controls so you can adjust the room lighting, including a dedicated reading setting, right from bed.

You can also control both the sheer and blackout curtains from the headboard, which makes settling in for the night incredibly easy.

One thing worth noting is that there is no space under the beds for luggage storage, so plan accordingly and make use of the luggage stand in the closet rather than leaving bags out on the floor. It is a small thing, but good to know before you arrive so you can pack smart.

Between the beds sits a cabinet with wireless charging built right into the top, which is super convenient for overnight charging without hunting for a free outlet.

They also provide charging cables in the room in case you forgot yours at home. It’s a small but genuinely thoughtful touch that you don’t always see at hotels, even at this price point.

The outlets throughout the room are international, supporting all three major plug types, including European sockets, and they also offer USB and USB-C compatibility.

No matter where you are traveling from, you should be covered.

Drinks and Snack Station

The drinks setup here is genuinely impressive and one of the highlights of the room.

The station is stocked with complimentary coffee capsules, tea sachets, bottled water, and candies, and it also includes a tea kettle, wine glasses, and cocktail glasses.

For the cocktail enthusiasts, the minibar comes stocked with mixes for Singapore Slings, Old Fashioneds, and Negronis, along with an ice bucket and a book on the art of mixology to help you nail your pour.

A spirits menu lets you order whatever you need to complete the drink. Keep in mind that most of the cocktail ingredients and the fancier bottled drinks are available at an upcharge, but the complimentary coffee, tea, and water alone make for a great setup.

It definitely all goes well beyond the basic coffee maker you find in most hotel rooms.

Entertainment and Extras

The room also features a Bluetooth speaker on the bedside table that you can connect to wirelessly and play your own music, which is a genuinely nice luxury touch that sets Marina Bay Sands apart from a lot of hotels at a similar price point. You’ll definitely want to queue up your vacation playlist and enjoy.

The TV also supports AirPlay, Chromecast, and even has an HDMI port so you can connect your own device directly to the screen, which is something you almost never see in a hotel room.

One other fun detail: right at the entrance of the room, there is a panel that lets you control the lighting settings for the entire room with a single button, as well as buttons to request privacy or housekeeping.

There are several light presets, including a dim setting that changes the whole room at once.

Closet

The room actually has two closets, both well-organized and stocked. You will find the standard iron, ironing board, and luggage stand, as well as plush robes, umbrellas, a hairdryer, a laundry bag, a sewing kit, slippers, and even a shoe shine kit and shoe bag.

There is also a safe that is genuinely one of the fanciest-looking in-room safes you will come across. If you are staying for multiple nights, there is plenty of space to unpack and make yourself at home.

Bathroom

The bathroom is a real standout.

The double-sink vanity offers plenty of space for two guests to get ready at the same time, and the counter is stocked with complimentary amenities, including body lotion, mouthwash, dental kits, a shaving kit, nail kits, a hairbrush, and styling combs.

There is also a retainer box, which is a detail you rarely see included. Two robes are split between the bathroom and the closet, one for each guest.

The soaking tub is genuinely inviting, with a headrest and a phone stand built in so you can catch up on a show while you soak.

It also has a handheld attachment for washing your hair, which is a practical touch.

The separate shower is a highlight in its own right, featuring both a waterfall shower head and a standard shower head, which is a great combination when you want the full spa experience but also need to keep your hair dry.

The toilet is in its own separate room and features a bidet.

Overall, the Double Queen Bed room at Marina Bay Sands delivers exactly what you would hope for from a world-class hotel: comfort, thoughtful amenities, and a level of polish that makes the splurge feel worth it.
