Disneyland may be about to swing into one of its busiest seasons, but that doesn’t mean some pretty hefty refurbishments aren’t looming…

Typically, Spring Break and summer crowds will prompt Disneyland to keep as many rides as possible open. HOWEVER, with the D23 fan expo returning to the resort in August, it makes sense that Disney is opting to cram in a bunch of refurbishments right now before fans from all over the world flock to The Happiest Place on Earth in massive droves. With that in mind — prepare yourself. There are lots of refurbishments scheduled in April, and most may last a while.
This April, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will have a combined 7 attractions closed at some point. They are as follows:
Disneyland Park
Jungle Cruise — Reopening TBA
The Jungle Cruise closed on February 17th, and work is continuing into this month.

This world-famous boat ride is undergoing structural repairs and is currently scheduled to be closed all the way into May… and possibly beyond.

Disneyland Monorail — Reopening TBA
The Disneyland Monorail closed on March 30th, and a reopening date has yet to be listed.

Right now, guests cannot take the monorail between Downtown Disney and Tomorrowland, as work is being done to fortify this Disneyland icon.

Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin — Reopening TBA
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin also closed on March 30th, and this Mickey’s Toontown ride could also be down for some time.

This spinning ride that takes you through the events of the film is also scheduled to be closed well into May. The calendar only goes so far out, so it’s fair to assume that this could be closed for the duration of next month, as well.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters — Closed April 13th, 2026
Over in Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters could be out of commission for some time.

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind — Reopening TBA
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is a small carnival-like ride themed after the Pixar franchise — and it’s been closed for quite a while this year.

The ride closed in January and is still listed as being closed through April and into May. We still don’t know when it’ll reopen.
Toy Story Midway Mania! — Closed April 6th, 2026
A big closure is hitting Toy Story Midway Mania! on April 6th, and its reopening date has not yet been announced.

This high-flying swing ride is scheduled to be closed at least through May 15th — as far out as we can currently see on the Disneyland refurbishment calendar. We’ll let you know when a reopening date is announced.

Omg my sis and I are arriving mid may to Disneyland which we’ve visited since it opened. We are 79 and 81 and we’re celebrating 81 yr old sis free of cancer. Now you tell us all our favorite rides are closed. We are so heartbroken. We cAnt reschedule it would be too expensive. I put Disney off the last two years til sis was cleared. I’m so so unhappy Disney. This might be our last time to come there. Tears are streaming down my face. Regards Mary Ann and Nina
