A major perk just returned to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!

Wilderness Lodge has tons of great features that make it one of our favorite Disney World resorts, including unique dining options, incredible atmosphere, and close proximity to Magic Kingdom. And if easy access to Magic Kingdom is high on your list of reasons for a stay at Wilderness Lodge, we’ve got great news!
Unlike other Magic Kingdom area hotels, Wilderness Lodge doesn’t offer Monorail access to Magic Kingdom. But it does offer direct access to the park entrance via boats that depart from the Wilderness Lodge dock approximately every 20 minutes.

This is a huge perk for hotel guests, as guests staying outside of the Magic Kingdom area have to first take a bus or car to the Transportation & Ticket Center, and then transfer to either the Monorail or a ferryboat from there to Magic Kingdom. Lines at the TTC can get pretty long, especially around park open and close, so having direct boat transportation from the hotel is a big selling point for many guests.

On January 12th, routine maintenance began on the boat docks at Wilderness Lodge, and the boat transportation between the hotel and Magic Kingdom was temporarily suspended to allow for construction work.

And while maintenance work will continue through April 2026, boat service between Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom has resumed as of January 31st. So, if you have an upcoming stay at the hotel, you should be able to take advantage of this major transportation perk!
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more news from around the Disney parks, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates.
