Disneyland has revealed that it plans on laying off around 100 Cast Members.

According to Deadline, Disney has confirmed Cast Members from a range of departments at Disneyland have been let go. This includes “a limited number of salaried positions.”
A Disneyland spokesperson made the following statement:
“With our business in a period of steady, sustained operation, we are recalibrating our organization to ensure we continue to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests, while positioning Disneyland Resort for the future. As part of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to eliminate a limited number of salaried positions. We are deeply grateful for the contributions of these cast members and are committed to supporting them with care, respect, and resources during this transition.”

This follows a settlement Disney made with Disneyland Cast Members earlier this year for $233 million after employees made claims they were underpaid according to Anaheim law. The lawsuit was initially filed in 2019, and at the time, the courts sided with Disney. However, the unions appealed. This was the biggest settlement ever recorded in California history.

Despite the new round of job cuts, Disney reported better-than-expected earnings for its second quarter of 2025, mostly thanks to strong numbers from its theme parks, experiences, and sports. Streaming also showed some growth. However, the company predicted theme park attendance would decrease in 2025.

We’ll see how the company is doing financially during its next earnings report and call, scheduled for November 13th.
