This NEW Vegas Theme Park Might Give Disney’s Pop Century a Run for Its Money

Here at AllEars, we’re obsessed with ALL theme parks, not just Disney and Universal. A new theme park was announced in Las Vegas, Nevada, and well, we have thoughts!

As someone who grew up in Las Vegas and was theme park-obsessed, I always dreamed of having a theme park in my backyard. I might have dreamed of seeing a castle and a mouse involved, but we all know Las Vegas is one of the most unique cities around, and therefore, they’re going to do theme parks the Vegas way.

Meet ReteroEscapes, the world’s first retro theme park. There are five distinct lands, each themed to a different decade: 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. There’s also a Tomorrow Zone with a “glimpse into the unknown future.”

The entrance to the park is like stepping back in time to enjoy American pop culture for each decade. The companies behind the park have worked on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Aquatica, Discovery Cove, and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. There’s even a Fountain of Youth hologram and laser show.

Lots of concept art have been released, and there are lots of bars to check out while exploring. The Game Bar is a throwback to Pac-Man! Do you think the drinks are themed to the game?

Of course, there’s a Disco Bar! It isn’t Las Vegas without the glitz and the glamour.

Hm, does this look like a reference to The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine?” It’s a coffee house, so we can only imagine how cute the coffee drink names will be. We’re hoping this is going to be the spot to grab a quick breakfast, too.

In true Vegas fashion, there are references to lots of iconic stars. Here’s one dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, the icon of the ’50s and ’60s.

Any Elvis fans? This is a restaurant and bar for the king himself. My favorite part about this concept art is the mountains in the back. During your next visit to Las Vegas, make sure you take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous mountains surrounding the city.

Twist and Shout (twist a little closer now!) is another bar and restaurant. It looks like you should come to the theme park with an empty stomach and get ready to eat your way through the decades.

It’s not a theme park without rides, right? There’s a cool car ride for the 1950s, and we can’t tell if it’s a water ride, but it looks like a great tour through the area.

This one is in the future area of the park and looks like a true roller coaster. It looks like you’ll be able to sit down in a small vehicle and zoom through a futuristic city.

There is currently no opening timeline, but it sure is going to be a party when it opens. Make sure you keep following AllEars for more.
