Your Disney+ Subscription Just Got a Major Upgrade — Here’s What’s Coming

The Walt Disney Company is always looking for ways to enhance the consumer experience. This is true in the parks, on Disney cruises, and through streaming.

Since the launch of Disney+, it has gone through several upgrades, and Disney will likely continue to make it better. The company periodically adds new content and experiences right in the app. If you’ve logged in recently, you may have noticed some updates and there’s more yet to come!

ESPN DTC App

EPSN Direct-to-Consumer launched on August 21st. The enhanced ESPN app features all of the ESPN content you can find through a network provider and more. It “deliver[s] a more personalized and dynamic viewing experience to fans” on mobile devices and other devices with the app. It’s not a new app; you can simply use the same apps you’ve been using — they are just now updated.

The app features “multi-view options, integrated game stats, betting information, fantasy sports and commerce, along with a personalized SportsCenter For You.” This updated app will be able to be accessed from the Disney+ app if you have a bundle subscription.

ESPN Draft Nights

ESPN and the NFL have reached an updated licensing agreement that now lets you watch the NFL draft nights on the ESPN and Disney+ apps!

Even more features will be available direction on the EPSN DTC app, including select preseason games for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. For more info on what’s available, check out Disney+, Hulu, and the ESPN app.

Shopping and Concessions

An exciting new change in your streaming experience is coming soon. Disney is working with ShopSense and Gopuff to introduce a shopping and concessions experience for viewers.

As you’re watching your favorite show, you’ll be able to make purchases of items from that franchise. So if you’re watching a Star Wars show, you may be able to purchase a Star Wars souvenir right in the app. And if you’re craving some popcorn while watching a movie, you’ll be able to order some through the app and Gopuff.

New Perks Frequently

While perks for Disney+ subscribers isn’t a brand new concept, the perks themselves occasionally change! You’ll want to make sure you check the Disney+ perks website periodically to take advantage of them as they are updated.
