Are you making the most out of your MagicBand+ during your Disney World visits?

MagicBand+ is a wrist accessory that allows guests to charge purchases to their resort hotel rooms, get on-ride PhotoPass photos and effects, tap into the Parks, and more. This version of the MagicBand also includes enhanced features to interact with the environment within the parks, such as activating interactions with Golden Statues and lighting up with fireworks displays — thanks to short- and long-range RFID technology. Over the years, MagicBand+ has become super popular, but there’s one included feature most people tend to forget about.
The LED aspect of MagicBand+ requires battery to stay operational. As such, you’ll need to charge your MagicBand+ to be able to get the full experience (you can check your MagicBand+ battery health in the My Disney Experience app). Often, if someone forgets to charge their MagicBand+ and the app shows it as “dead”, folks will just leave it back in the hotel and not use it while it charges. This is a mistake.

Even though the battery is dead, MagicBand+ still works!

Sure, the band won’t light up and you won’t get the full range of capability, but you will still be able to scan into Lightning Lanes and use it as a park ticket!

If the interactive features of your MagicBand+ are super important to you, you can always bring along a portable charger and charge your band as needed!
Additionally, MagicBand+ batteries aren’t designed to be permanent, so eventually the battery will die and you’ll lose the extra features. HOWEVER, the bands are still useful because the ticket feature will stick around and your band will remain linked to your account.

We’ve tested this feature out and are consistently looking for new secrets and little-known facts that can gelp you during your next vacation.
