Cool Kid Summer is here! Disney World recently started its festivities for Cool Kid Summer, and we had to check it all out. It is happening from May 27th through September 1st and includes special entertainment and new characters!

You will find special happenings at ALL four parks, so no matter where you are headed, keep your eye peeled for special activities. You can pick up a guide at each park so you can have a handy guide with you at all times, too.
Cool Kid Summer has officially arrived in Disney World, and we are rounding up everything there is to see and do this summer. Let’s start over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Over in Animal Kingdom, there are three new offerings this summer. You can take part in crafting activities over at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. You can also take part in an interactive sing-along with a Dino Institute Intern. Finally, there is also a new, limited-time Wilderness Explorer Badge.

You can find this new Wilderness Explorer Badge located in Asia near Feathered Friends in Flight and next to Yak and Yeti. Before you can earn the badge, you will need to register as a Wilderness Explorer at the front of the park to get your book. Then you are free to earn badges throughout the park!

This new badge has three stations at it. The point of the badge is to learn that you can play outside. One station has you making noise with sticks and rattly things from nature. The second station will have you tracing leaves to make a leaf imprint in your book. The final station will have you creating water art on a stone tablet. You can do any of the three stations to earn your badge! The badge goes in the extra pages in the back of the book; there is no special page for this new badge.

Now, let’s check out what is going on in EPCOT!
EPCOT
In EPCOT, you can check out GoofyCore, which has taken over CommuniCore Hall for a limited time. Inside, kids can dance along with the DJ’s tunes and play fun games like Loopy Limbo and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks.

Next up, Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

In addition to the two new shows: “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After”, kids can also enjoy another experience over in Animation Courtyard. Get Animated has arrived in Animation Courtyard and it features a DJ-led dance party with some of your favorite characters.

You can also see jump rope performers, known as the Jumpin’ Beans. They perform a high-energy show and then offer kids the chance to learn how to jump rope. Entertaining and can help get some energy out!

In Animation Courtyard, you can also spot a magician perform a variety of tricks.

You will also have the chance to meet some special characters in Animation Courtyard. You used to be able to meet various Disney Junior characters here, but new characters have taken their spot. You will find Clarabelle…

…Chip and Dale…

…and Max!

We also spotted a new snack stand called Get Refreshed that is serving up snacks from Once Upon a Farm. You can find snacks including a Strawberry Refrigerated Oat Bar, Fruit & Veggie Blend Green Kale & Apple, Fuit & Veggie Blend Mama Blueberry, and Coconut Melts Mango Ba-nilla.

And over at ABC Commissary, we spotted Cast Members walking around with carts full of activities. They had crayons, coloring pages, gummy bears, and more.

Now, let’s see what is happening in Magic Kingdom!
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom has two new DJ-led dance parties happening for Cool Kid Summer. Over at Storybook Circus, kids can head to the Big Top Bash.

There they can enjoy dancing to their favorite tunes!

And marvel at the stilt walkers and jugglers performing!

Over at the Rocket Tower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, you can also join Stitch for a dance party. While both dance parties were fun, if you only have time for one, we definitely recommend the Big Top Bash! The Stitch dance party was just a DJ and one or two group games in the direct sun, while Big Top Bash was air conditioned and there was more to see and do.

You can also head into the Merchant of Venus nearby for a craft inspired by the upcoming film Elio. Inside, you will also spot some really fun photo opportunities! The craft will have you decorating a postcard that you can then send to space.

Once you have finished decorating it, you put it inside of the machine to “send” it to space. It even comes out of the machine with a space delivery seal pressed into the card.

We also spotted a couple of roaming characters in Magic Kingdom! Keep your eyes open, because you never know when you might spot one. We saw Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, and they even did the Kingdom Dance!

We also spotted Mr. Smee out for a stroll in Fantasyland.

You can enjoy all the Cool Kid Summer festivities now until September 1st. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for roaming characters while you are in the park. Stay tuned to AllEars for all your Disney World news!
