7 Ways You Need to Pack DIFFERENTLY for Disneyland in 2025

With 2024 officially behind us, it’s time to start planning ahead for 2025 Disney Parks visits!

Over at the Disneyland Resort, expansion is about to really take shape this year. From new eateries and shops in Downtown Disney, to new and improved lands at Disney California, the resort is going to have a different look and feel in 2025. With this in mind, it’s appropriate to start planning a little differently for your 2025 Disneyland trip.

This year is a BIG ONE when it comes to change at Disneyland. Essentially kicking off the DisneylandForward expansion, 2025 will feature some new quirks, challenges, and opportunities that will make your next visit different from past trips. With that in mind, we’ve circled seven things you’ll need to pack that will help make your 2025 Disneyland vacation perhaps your best one yet!

Starting in 2025, Avengers Campus as Disney California Adventure is undertaking a massive expansion. The land is doubling in size and adding two new highly anticipated attractions in Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab.

Avengers Infinity Defense will feature a storyline where “technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere.” During this ride, you will join the Avengers on this mission and come face-to-face with King Thanos.

Stark Flight Lab will feature two-person pods in a Stark test station where passengers will get to experience simulated flight and meet Mr. Stark. This attraction is slated to begin construction this year, in fact!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened at Disneyland in late 2024 and has been a hit among guests. However, there is one big caveat to the new ride.

You will get wet. In fact, you might even get absolutely drenched. The new attraction has already gotten plenty of buzz regarding this and we don’t expect that to stop, especially during the spring and summer months. This water ride doesn’t pull its punches so we recommend packing accordingly.

2025 is a big year for Disneyland for other factors outside of its rides. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort, which is celebrating with several entertainment options, decorations, and more.

Over in the Downtown Disney District, we’ve already seen quite a bit of expansion progress come to fruition.

Recently, two stores opened in the district and we’re still waiting on several more stores and eateries that should open in 2025 or shortly after, including Porto’s Bakery and Café, Earl of Sandwich, Parkside Market (with its four restaurants), Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, and Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon.

Each year, Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion changes to its Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay for the Halloween and holiday seasons. Late in 2023, it made the switch, and when it closed in 2024 for refurbishment and its brand-new queue it was still in the holiday theming. When it reopened later in the year, it reopened as Haunted Mansion Holiday, meaning we haven’t seen the regular Haunted Mansion in over a year.

That all changes on January 18th, 2025, when the Haunted Mansion reopens.

With The Nightmare Before Christmas theming leaving the park temporarily, it’s once again time to embrace the OG Ghost Host, Constance Hatchaway, and the other 999 happy haunts.

All of these nighttime offerings means you’ll be staying at the parks late and despite its reputation, Southern California evenings are very much capable of being quite chilly.
