9 NEW Restaurants Announced By Disney

The Disneyland Resort is about to undergo some massive changes over the next decade and the soonest additions may be presented in the form of NEW eateries.

Downtown Disney

Home to some of the best eats in all of the Disneyland Resort, the Downtown Disney District is slated for some new stores and restaurants in the near future. From familiar classics to multi-layer dining experiences, much is on the horizon for this shopping and dining hotspot.

In total, Disneyland has announced seven new restaurants coming to Downtown Disney. Let’s get into these additions and what you can expect!

Porto’s Bakery and Café

Porto’s Bakery and Café is a Southern California classic chain that already has six locations in the state. Created by Rosa Porto, this Cuban-inspired restaurant will serve sweet pastries and savory eats with a Cuban twist.

Porto’s is opening a location at Downtown Disney.

Featuring Porto family recipes, this location will begin construction in 2025.

The menu has yet to be released, but we expect to see items from other locations such as guava and cheese strudel (Refugiado), empanadas, croquetas, breakfast pastries and cakes, freshly baked breads, and more.

Earl of Sandwich

Porto’s will be replacing Earl of Sandwich, which is moving to a new two-story location.

Last but not least, Disney teased a second-story rooftop bar that specializes in top-notch views and cocktails. In an official post about the bar, Disney included “frozen lemonades, frozés, espresso martinis, shareable cocktails, and spirit-free elixirs.”

Disney Wonderful World of Sweets

Marceline’s Confectionery has been closed for refurbishment for most of the year with offerings being limited to a cart. The store named after Walt Disney’s hometown in Missouri will be reimagined and become the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets.

The Disney Wonderful World of Sweets store will sell “whimsical candy, sweets and treats shop featuring tasty favorites such as churro toffee, caramel apples, sour balls, lollipops, packaged confections and freshly made Werther’s Original Caramel popcorn!”

Finally, we know what will become of Tortilla Jo’s! Occupying the space will be two new restaurants:  a steakhouse and a barbecue eatery and an adjacent barbecue quick-service location.

Both eateries will come from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori. According to Disney, “The full-service steakhouse will have a warm and sophisticated ambiance with a menu highlighting prime cuts of beef, chops, fresh seafood, sandwiches and chopped salads. Bourbon connoisseurs and mixology enthusiasts may enjoy an inventive selection of expertly crafted cocktails.”

As for the quick-service barbecue spot, it will offer “traditional BBQ dishes such as pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked wings that incorporate unique spices and house-made sauces. A prominent outdoor bar will feature a wide selection of craft beers and a medley of moonshine cocktails.”
