NEWS: DELAYS Impact Over 80 Flights at Orlando International Airport

“Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful!” Are you excited for winter and the holiday season?

It’s the holiday season!

The winter holidays are a fun time of gathering with friends and family, and that can often mean lots of traveling. It also means that we’re in the midst of winter, which can bring unexpected weather in parts of the country. Weather and many other issues may cause flight delays even when we’re trying to get home for the holidays, and we’re seeing LOTS of delays hitting Orlando International Airport today, November 30th.

As of 11:30AM on the last day of November, the Orlando International Airport was experiencing several flight delays. At that time, 93 flights were delayed, but luckily, only one flight had been canceled.

Southwest Airlines had 24 delays, Delta had 12 delays, and Spirit Airlines had 10 delays, while several other airlines had a few delays as well. The cause of these delays today is unknown, but if you’re flying out of MCO, you’ll want to keep track of your flight on the airline’s website or app and the screens at the airport.

There are many reasons why these flights may have been delayed. As other parts of the country experience bad winter weather, there may be an impact on outgoing flights from MCO. However, there could be several explanations, and it is unclear what the reason is for these delays. This is a very busy weekend for flying as people head home from their Thanksgiving travels, so anyone traveling today should pay special attention to their flight status.

As we head into the winter and the holiday season, keep in mind that flights may be delayed or canceled as weather and other issues require. We recommend downloading your airline’s app so you can keep track of delays, flight times, gate changes, and more right from your phone as you prepare to fly.
