Arggggh! It’s time for lots and lots of treasure, AKA Disney news!

We’re at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event where Disney is revealing tons of new updates for the parks, cruise line, and more. If you’ve been wondering about the Pirates of the Caribbean lounge that was announced for Magic Kingdom back in 2023, we’ve got an update for you!
In case you missed it, at Destination D23 in 2023, Disney announced that a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge would be coming to Magic Kingdom. They didn’t give us many details, but we did get a piece of concept art that we dug through for clues.

It’s been debated among Disney fans where the lounge will be and when it will open, but now we have some answers!

“Here, bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas are welcome to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life! In the newly released artwork, X marks the spot for a sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub inside this tavern location coming to Magic Kingdom Park.”

We’ve seen construction in this area of the park, so we were expecting more updates soon. Tortuga Tavern closed in June and opened in July as a gift shop called Tortuga Treasures. This is while Disney does construction on the usual Pirates store, Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.

Disney has announced that the lounge will be open to guests in 2025. We can’t wait for more details to be released!
