REVIEW: Exclusive NEW Beignets Just Arrived at Universal Orlando

We’ve been spending some time at Universal Orlando recently.

We had a chance to check out the all-new Dreamworks Land, plus we got to see Universal’s new nighttime entertainment and the Universal Mega Movie parade, the theme park’s biggest parade yet! Well, we’ve also been checking out some snacks, including that Shrek Pretzel, but now we’re trying ANOTHER snack, and this time, it’s something we have pretty strong opinions on: beignets.

Now, we’ll admit we’re partial to the Mickey beignets you can get at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts and in Disneyland, so we were very curious about the Boss Baby Beignets from Universal’s Dreamworks Imagination Cafe. For $5.99, you get a total of six beignets coated in powdered sugar (as they should be).

These beignets are soft and fluffy with the right consistency you would expect from a beignet. We were actually a little surprised at how good they are, considering they’re from a theme park. We’ll admit that we would’ve loved some dipping sauce or some kind of filling that would have taken them up a notch. But, overall, these are solidly good on their own.

Do they compare to Disney beignets? Well, it’s apples and oranges, really. Mickey beignets are their absolute own thing, but flavor-wise, these definitely could give the Mickey beignets a run for their money. If you’d like to try them for yourself, you can get them right now.

In the meantime, we’re still waiting for more announcements about Universal’s third theme park, Epic Universe, which will open with five new themed lands in 2025. We’ve already seen a lot of details about that park, but we’re looking forward to learning more about the new restaurants it will have.
