If you’re new to Disney cruising, there’s one thing that can confuse even those who have lots of experience with other cruise lines…DINNER!

What could possibly be confusing about dinner? I mean, you get a menu, you choose what you want to eat, your server brings it to your table…What’s so hard about this? Well, Disney handles dinner differently than other cruise lines — and you need to get familiar with it before your Disney Treasure cruise! So, let’s get into it!
Most cruise ships have a Main Dining Room, and that’s where you do dinner. You generally are assigned an early or a late seating (although some cruise lines have switched to walk-up seating recently), and you sit at the same table each night. You also have the same servers throughout your cruise. The menu will vary from night to night — you often will have theme dinners based on your port of call, holidays, etc. And that’s the way cruise line dinner worked for decades…until Disney Cruise Line launched the Disney Magic.

Disney Cruise Line introduced a new concept — rotational dining. So what does that mean? Well, instead of a Main Dining Room, you rotate among three restaurants — dining in a different one each evening.

You keep your same table number and the same serving crew each night — they rotate restaurants with you! But with rotational dining, you’re in a new setting each evening, and many of them offer entertainment.

Now, don’t confuse rotational dining with specialty dining. Most cruise lines now have specialty dining restaurants that you can book for an additional fee. The rotational dining restaurants on Disney cruise ships are included in your cruise fare. So yes, this is an elevated experience above what you will find in the Main Dining Room on many other cruise lines, but without an upcharge.
Let’s take a look at the Rotational Dining restaurants that will be on the Disney Treasure! Like Disney’s other cruise ships, there will be 3 rotational dining rooms.
1923
Named after the year the Walt Disney Company started — 1923 — this is an animation-themed restaurant with Hollywood flair. It is decorated with animation sketches and props from Disney movies.

1923 serves California cuisine. We got to try it aboard the Disney Wish, where we enjoyed dishes like Tortiglioni Pasta, Italian Flat Parsley and Rosemary-Crusted Rack of Lamb, and a Seared Verlasso Salmon Filet.

Worlds of Marvel
This dining experience includes live entertainment and an appearance by Spider-Man!

You can expect a diverse menu at Worlds of Marvel, because the dishes are inspired by the origin stories of the superheroes! You’ll find everything from an African-spiced pork chop to German chicken schnitzel to Delmonico rib-eye steak here.

Plaza de Coco
We are so excited to see this first-ever Disney Cruise Line Coco-themed restaurant! Disney says we’ll be transported to Santa Cecilia, where we’ll get to watch Coco and local mariachis perform.

On the second night you dine in Plaza de Coco, Disney says it will be transformed into a Dia de los Muertos celebration.
