Listen, January can be a rough month, okay? We totally get that.

Apparently though, Disney World feels the same way. We lost a beloved attraction this month (it’s only being refurbished, but the original edition is now gone forever), crowds decided to throw us for a loop, and apparently, certain rides just decided to have the most difficult month they’ve ever seen and steal the spotlight.
Magic Kingdom
Hi, Magic Kingdom, we love you, but WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED? In the whole month of January, the ride that closed the most was The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh which closed 46 times over 22 days.

That’s over two times a day! But don’t worry — it tied with Mad Tea Party, which also closed 46 times over 22 days. Did Emma spinning 40 times in one ride encourage others to do the same? Mad Tea Party, do you need some TLC?

In other, more expected news, Space Mountain closed 38 times over 24 days, which we’re not as surprised about. We love you Space, but you do have a lot of moving parts.

But EPCOT should be more normal, right?
EPCOT
NOPE! The Seas with Nemo and Friends closed a whopping 34 times over 24 days. Yes, the omnimover ride with screens closed just 4 times less than a roller coaster.

You’ll never guess what was next — Spaceship Earth (can you see why we’re confused?) closed 29 times over 17 days. That’s especially surprising because…

…it had more closures than Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! This ride had closures 28 times over 20 days. Yes, the trackless dark ride broke down less than an omnimover attraction.

But don’t worry, Disney’s Hollywood Studios got us back on track.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
We’re not kidding you here, but that’s because Hollywood Studios has SO many massive rides that are technologically advanced, it’s not super surprising whatever order they’re in. In first place is Rise of the Resistance with 38 closures over 23 days.

Next was Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway with 34 closures over 21 days. Considering these are both trackless dark rides with more moving parts than we can count (especially Rise), they’re doing pretty well in our book.

And lastly, we have Slinky Dog Dash, one of the other most popular rides in the park, which closed 24 times over 16 days.

But hey, did anyone notice Tower of Terror is NOT on this list? You go Tower of Terror, we’re proud of you!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We’re staying on track here — Expedition Everest broke down 25 times over 16 days, which is pretty much what we expect from this ride.

But then things got weird again — the second most common closure was TriceraTop Spin (???) with 19 closures over 14 days. Yikes. Maybe triceratops really aren’t made to fly. Could we get some of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust over here?

But the strangest feat of them all is that Flight of Passage, one of the most popular rides in all of Disney World, only broke down ONCE. It’s a miracle!

We keep an eye on the closures all month long to help you prepare for your upcoming Disney trip. Remember, while it’s important to have a plan in Disney World, it’s also important to be able to go with the flow, because things can change on a dime!
