Are you really a Disney fan if you aren’t waiting on the edge of your seat for the next BIG announcement from the company?

It seems that Disney is frequently unveiling exciting news — from new additions coming to Holiday parties, to brand new runDisney races, to in-park news and updates. Many of these updates are shared via social media and Disney’s blog and website, but some big announcements typically take place at events that Disney hosts or is a part of. Speaking of events, there’s a BIG one coming up, and we’re expecting Disney to share some exciting details!
This year, Disney is a featured sponsor for the annual ESSENCE Festival of Culture. The event takes place from June 29th to July 3rd, and Disney will be showcasing their latest projects and content, speaking at panels, hosting performances and meet-and-greets, and MORE, all while celebrating the “Power of Joy,” which is the theming of the festival.

Just to prepare you all for the type of news that is typically shared at these events, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was among the BIG news shared at the 2022 Essence Festival. (So they could be dropping some MAJOR news, y’all!)

So, what are we expecting to hear? Well, we can expect to see Haunted Mansion director Justin Simien joined by Cast Members LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, and Rosario Dawson. They’ll be attending events and panels on Saturday and Sunday, so it’s possible we’ll hear more details about the upcoming film which premiers in theaters on July 28th.

Disney has also suggested that we could get a special look at Star Wars: Ahsoka, a new series coming to Disney+, as well as Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming musical feature: Wish, starring Ariana DeBose. We’re so excited to learn more about these!

Disney will also be hosting special panels and Q&A sessions regarding Disney vacations around the world, as well as a Celebrate Soulfully Parks showcase that will “highlight the experiences of black culture and heritage at Walt Disney World and Disneyland resort.” Plus, we can expect to hear from Disney Dreamers Academy, which is a career mentorship program for black students.

What do you think? Do you want to tune in? If so, you can catch the livestream on Hulu from June 30th to July 2nd, from 7PM to 11:59PM CT. Oh, and make sure to follow along here at AE for any and all Disney news and updates!
