A One-of-a-Kind Experience Is Returning to Disney's Pop Century Resort Tomorrow!

Honestly, is there anything better on a hot Florida day than taking a break from the parks and spending time in the resort pool? It’s a good way to get away from the chaos of the parks AND cool off, so it’s a win-win. Well, hundreds of kids are about to do that but also learn HOW to swim.

Disney World is participating in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson. Last year’s event brought 300 students to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, along with NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss, Disney World Water Parks Vice President Faron Kelley, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Students came from a variety of non-profit organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida and the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

A total of 300 students turned up for the event where Moss spoke to them about water safety, as well as enjoyed some fun time in Typhoon Lagoon with attendees while they got swimming lessons.

Well, Disney World is getting ready to do it all again. This time, the event will be held at the Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The event is set to take place on June 22nd at 9AM at the pool. If you’re interested, registration begins at 8:45AM. Note that capacity is limited, so you’ll need to sign up as soon as you can, but there is a catch: only guests of Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort are invited.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is a worldwide promotional event meant to bring awareness about how important it is to teach children how to swim to prevent drowning. It’s sponsored by the World Water Park Association and has been holding its annual event every year since 2010.
