If you’ve ever been a Cast Member at one of the Disney Parks or have interacted with one, you know that the iconic name tags donned on the front of the uniform aren’t just any old name tags!

We love Cast Members and their costumes!

These name tags are known to spark conversation and special interactions between Cast Members and Disney World visitors, as they include special pieces of information like the Cast Member’s hometown, college, and right now at Disneyland — their favorite Disney character. Now, the Cast Members at Disney World are donning NEW name tags. Let’s check them out!

Starting today, Cast Members at Disney World are rocking new name tags! It’s been a little over 18 months since the iridescent 50th Anniversary ones debuted, but now that the celebration is over it was time for an upgrade.

New Name Tag

While we knew that the Cast Members would soon be receiving the name tags, we didn’t realize the thought that went behind the design, which Disney recently shared.

Disney Costume Designer Joshua Winchester shared his thought process on the new design, which features “twinkly stars and pixie dust’s magic.” Speaking of pixie dust, Cast Members are able to access special PhotoPass lenses with their name tags!

“The singular, golden star above Cinderella Castle represents our cast who are the guiding light of the Walt Disney World Resort,” Winchester said, “While the field of stars represents that little sprinkling of pixie dust our cast carry while making magic for our guests.”

Name Tag

The color palette of the new name tags was inspired by Cinderella! As a finishing touch, a gloss was applied only over the top of the stars so that the light would catch and bring attention to them.
