When you think of people who have made legendary contributions to Disney, chances are someone immediately pops into your head.

It might be the likes of Robert Downey Jr. or Tony Baxter — or maybe Julie Andrews or Leota Toombs Thomas. There are those who deserve to be recognized for how they shaped The Walt Disney Company, and that’s how the Disney Legends Awards came to be. This exclusive Hall of Fame recognizes people who stand out among the rest — and now we know the next set of folks who are set to be immortalized as Disney Legends!
The D23 Expo is right around the corner and will be taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center from September 9th to 11th, 2022. Guests can expect a whole bunch of exciting announcements, panels, experiences, and more!

Disney just announced that as part of the Expo, they’ll be inducting a NEW class into the Disney Legends Hall of Fame — and we know exactly who they are! These Legends will be honored during the Opening Ceremony of the Expo weekend.

This year, Disney is commemorating the impact these people had on the company by naming Anthony Anderson, Kristen Bell, Chadwick Boseman, Rob’t Coltrin, Patrick Dempsey, Robert Price “Bob” Foster, Jonathan Groff, Don Hahn, Josh Gad, Doris Hardoon, Idina Menzel, Chris Montan, Ellen Pompeo, and Tracee Ellis Ross as Disney Legends!

This is a pretty big deal, as the club is quite exclusive with only 304 other members. Not only that, but it could mean that some of these Legends actually show up at the D23 Expo to be inducted! Only time will tell, but you can bet we’ll be keeping you updated throughout every aspect of the event.
The Opening Ceremony will feature musical performances, special guests, “surprises for the audience,” and performances by Cast Members from Disney on Broadway’s Aladdin, Frozen, and The Lion King.

Emmy Award winner Tamron Hall will host the 35th Disney Legends Awards, and Disney CEO Bob Chapek will be there to give fans a first look at Disney 100 Years of Wonder — the celebrations in store for The Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary.

If you’re attending the D23 Expo, admission to the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony is on a first come, first serve basis and will take place at 10:30AM in Hall D23. You can also stream the ceremony LIVE and we’ll update you with all the details on how to do that.
