If you’re in Central Florida this weekend, be sure to plan for some intense weather.

When traveling to Disney World in the summer, there are a few things you’ll need to prepare for. Of course, there are typically summer crowds that come with school breaks, which means long wait times for many attractions. But it’s also important to plan for some intense heat and humidity that can reach potentially dangerous levels.
Today is forecasted to be one of those extremely hot days that could pose some serious health concerns. Click Orlando reported that heat advisories have been issued for numerous Central Florida counties as near-record high temperatures continue.

Heat advisories have been issued for both of the counties Disney World is located in, Orange and Osceola, for Saturday from 2-8PM. The other Central Florida counties with heat advisories are Brevard, Lake, Marion, Seminole, Sumter, Polk, Okeechobee, and inland Volusia.

The high temperature today is expected to reach 98 degrees and with humidity, the heat index is forecasted to reach 111 degrees. Heat advisories are issued by the National Weather Service when the heat index is expected to rise above 108.

If you are in Disney World this weekend be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Remember that most quick service locations in Disney World offer free cups of water. And you can also refill water bottles at fountains and refill stations around the parks.

It’s also suggested that people stay out of the sun as much as possible. Use today as your chance to check out lots of indoor attractions and shows like the newly reimagined Finding Nemo show in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Be sure to keep a close eye on how you and your family are feeling today, and take LOTS of breaks in air-conditioned spaces. We’ll continue to report on more important news as you’re planning your Disney World day, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates!
