John Headley, the Senior Vice President, Treasurer, of The Walt Disney Company is retiring and Disney has promoted Carlos Gómez to fill the position.
As reported by Deadline, Gómez has worked for Disney for 22 years as a financial executive and since 2011 as the vice president of Investor Relations. He was involved in the acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Marvel, and Pixar. He will be reporting directly to the CFO Christine McCarthy, and will oversee the global treasury of Disney.
Earlier today, Gómez said in a statement, “I look forward to leveraging my experience in this new role…to ensure the company has the access to capital necessary to execute on its strategic priorities, and to help guide the team through this unprecedented time.”
McCarthy commented that Headely “leaves behind an impressive legacy” and that Carlos is a “tremendous example” of the talent Headley developed.
