It’s official —Â Universal Orlando and Volcano Bay will be opening back up to guests starting on June 5th.

While Universal CityWalk reopened some of its dining and retail locations with new health and safety guidelines earlier this month, the parks will also be following new procedures.
And, we’ve got all the details that you need to know if you plan to head back to Universal Orlando and Volcano Bay two weeks from now.

What will Universal Orlando Resort’s hours be when the parks re-open?
Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure will be open from 9 AM until 6 PM daily. Volcano Bay will operate under 10 AM until 5 PM park hours daily. Universal CityWalk Orlando will also be open from 8 AM until 10 PM daily.

What attractions will be open in all of the parks?
Although Universal Orlando has stated which attractions may be open or closed during this time, we will keep you updated!

Will I need a reservation to go to the reopening?
No! Guests do not need a reservation to visit Universal Orlando or Volcano Bay during this time. However, the parks will have a limited attendance and lowered capacity during this time, so guests may be turned away.

I am a Universal Orlando Annual Passholder. Will I be able to visit the parks early?
Universal Passholders will likely get to visit the parks prior to the June 5th opening. While Universal’s proposal plan stated that invited members would most likely be able to visit the parks starting June 3rd and June 4th, that has not yet been confirmed. However, Passholders have already received emails from Universal confirming that “special passholder experiences will be announced soon” so we will keep you updates on what those are!

Although Universal previously postponed Annual Passholder payments during the closures, the parks will be updating passholders with more information soon. There will be new expiration dates on passes and additional details on when FlexPay payments will resume.

When will employees be trained for the new guidelines?
According to Universal, team members have already been in training for reopening. However, they will most likely be able to visit the parks themselves on June 1st and June 2nd.

What do the new health and safety protocols entail?
Guests and team members will be required to wear face coverings when visiting the parks. There will be staggered parking in the lots to promote distancing. After arriving, they will undergo temperature checks with a contactless thermometer. If someone has a fever of 100.4, they will be given the chance to cool off in a tent nearby. However, if the temperature persists, they will be asked to leave.

Everyone will be asked to wash their hands frequently and use hand-sanitizer. Some attractions may require guests to use hand-sanitizer before entering the ride vehicles. People visiting must comply with the social distancing markings and signs situated throughout the park and practice a distance of 6 feet apart from other guests.

Guests are asked to listen to team members while they are in Universal Orlando or Volcano Bay since they will be doing their best to assist during this time.
What else can I expect when I visit Universal Orlando and Volcano Bay?
The parks will operate under limited capacity with social distancing guidelines implemented in the attractions, restaurants, stores, and other locations on property. There will be increased sanitization protocols park-wide, including frequent cleaning of all high-touch surfaces (including attractions).

The Universal Orlando app will have contactless features along with the free WiFi for guests to use while they are in the parks. Some of these include the ability to order meals through Mobile Express Pick Up, set up TapTu Pay at Volcano Bay, purchase tickets and scan them at the entrances, and receive a Virtual Line return time.
