From long-awaited reopenings to surprising updates we didn’t see coming, 2025 delivered some of the most exciting ride changes Disney World has seen in years.

2025 flew by, and it brought lots of changes to some of our favorite Disney World rides. Today, we’re breaking down the top ride transformations and new experiences that have made 2025 one of the most memorable years yet for ride updates across Disney World.

After an extensive refurbishment, Test Track reopened in July 2025 with the design of the new attraction taking inspiration from the original ride, World of Motion. One of the biggest changes is that there’s no more “design your own car station!”

We know this is a bummer for many, as it takes away some of the interactability of the ride, but for others, it’s a relief. Guests still get that high‑speed thrill through the outdoor loop, but the queue, visuals, and story have all been enhanced to feel both nostalgic and new at the same time.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

One of EPCOT’s most popular family rides got a noteworthy update in November of 2025 when Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure switched from 3D to 2D visuals.

During a brief refurbishment in November, Disney updated the attraction’s screens and projections so guests no longer need 3D glasses, and the imagery is now presented in crisp 2D with enhanced lighting and additional props throughout the attraction and queue. Many Disney guests welcomed this change as it is less likely to make them feel sick afterwards!

TRON Lightcycle / Run

TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom, and for good reason. In September, it got a special overlay to celebrate the release of the newest film, TRON: Ares. The biggest change you’ll notice is that the iconic blue tones are changing to red. Inside the attraction, you’ll also hear some new music from Nine Inch Nails, who helped with music for the new film. We do know this will be a limited-time offer, though there’s no end date at this time.

Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom welcomed Zootopia: Better Zoogether! to the Tree of Life Theater in November of 2025, replacing It’s Tough to Be a Bug! with a new immersive 4D show.

It’s Heidi Howler!

Featuring beloved characters like Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, we found that almost all the theatrical and sensory effects from It’s Tough To Be a Bug remain, although they’re used as part of this new story. You can read more about it below!
