“It Smells Like Sour Milk to Me” 8 Iconic Snacks That Disney Fans Secretly HATE

If there’s one thing we know about Disney fans, it’s that we have some very strong feelings about snacks.

Popcorn Cart

We’ll happily debate Dole Whip versus Mickey Bars, argue over which churro cart is superior, and yes, we’ll absolutely go to bat for our favorite festival dishes. We reached out to you over on Facebook to ask: “Which Disney World snack is totally overhyped, and what deserves way more love instead?” You definitely didn’t hold back. And wow, you had thoughts.

We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “Which Disney World snack is totally overhyped, and what deserves way more love instead?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!

“The plain popcorn…”

First up, we have Donna, who shared,

“The plain popcorn with the fake butter smells like sour milk to me. Yuck.”

Popcorn

Disney popcorn is usually one of those can’t-miss staples, but not everyone finds that buttery smell irresistible. Donna’s take is bold, and honestly, maybe a few people secretly agree.

“It’s the turkey leg for me…”

Next, we have Reagan, who shared,

“It’s the turkey leg for me. I remember as a kid just wanting to try it, but always being to full from all the other treats my parents would buy. My husband and I took our kiddos a few years ago and I finally got to one… it just wasn’t it. My kids loved it though. ?”

Turkey Leg

The turkey leg is one of Disney’s most iconic snacks, but also one of the most polarizing. For some people, it’s a fun, theme-park tradition. For others…it’s a whole lot of smoky meat they would rather not commit to. Reagan’s honesty is refreshing.

“Christmas mint ice cream sandwich from France…”

Next, we have Erich, who shared,

“Christmas mint ice cream sandwich from France. Tasted like straight toothpaste!”

L’Artisan des Glaces

Holiday treats can be magical, but sometimes the flavor balance goes a little sideways. Mint lovers might enjoy it, but if it leans too far into toothpaste territory, we get it.

“…the blue and green milk in Galaxy’s Edge.”

Next, we have Ang, who shared,

“I absolutely hated the blue and green milk in Galaxy’s Edge.”

Blue Milk is admittedly one of Disney’s most divisive creations. Some guests love the tropical, slushy vibes; others feel like it’s an instant regret. Ang’s take is one we see pop up often.

“…I think actual cardboard may have tasted better!”

Next, we have Ashley, who shared,

“This! We really thought we were in for a treat when we grabbed this near Expedition Everest, but I think actual cardboard may have tasted better!” (They were referring to a Mickey Pretzel.)

Mickey Pretzel

The Mickey Pretzel is photogenic, yes. But delicious? That seems to depend on the exact pretzel you get, the time of day, and the Disney snack gods. When they’re warm and soft, they can be great. When they’re not… well, Ashley said it best. And you will 100% need plastic cheese or mustard to accompany it. These pretzels are much better with a dipping sauce!

“I so badly wanted to love…”

Next, we have Denise, who shared,

“I so badly wanted to love the Cheshire Cat Tail, but it was a huge miss for me.”

This treat has a loyal fanbase, but its quality can really vary. Sometimes it’s warm, flaky, and filled with chocolate. Other times, it’s, well… a bit sad. Denise definitely isn’t alone in this one.

“Mr Kamal’s seasoned fries!”

Next, we have Sarah, who shared,

“Mr Kamal’s seasoned fries! Honestly, to me they were just very meh and underwhelming, but I am Belgian so with the great fries we have here I tend to be dissappointed by fries that don’t come from a “frituur””

Seasoned Fries

Fries are a big deal in Belgium, so expectations are sky-high. And while Mr. Kamal’s fries have a cult following, they aren’t everyone’s favorite. Sarah’s perspective makes total sense.

“Corndogs…”

Next, we have Michael, who shared,

“Corndogs. No idea what anyone sees in them. Ieved the hype and was massively disappointed.”

Corndogs can be comfort-food perfection, or just not hit the mark at all. Expectations play a big role, and if you’re imagining a crispy, sweet, golden batter and don’t get it, the disappointment can be real.
