Disney has officially confirmed when Typhoon Lagoon will close — and it’s sooner than you think.

Disney World’s water parks have been a hot topic of conversation lately! With Disney’s announcement of bringing back its seasonal water park pass and its free water park ticket perk for the summer, interest in water park access has been steadily building for the year ahead. Now, Disney has locked in a key date that helps clarify how water park operations will look early next year, and it’s an important detail for anyone planning a splash-filled visit.
Disney has officially confirmed that Typhoon Lagoon will close for the season on February 15th, 2026. While the closure may come as a disappointment for some hoping to squeeze in one last visit, it also signals a familiar operational shift for Disney World’s water parks.

Lately, Disney World has typically operated one water park at a time, rotating seasonal closures between Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for refurbishment, maintenance, and weather considerations. Once Typhoon Lagoon closes in mid-February, Blizzard Beach is expected to take over as the sole open water park, following a pattern Disney has relied on for the past several years.

For those planning trips in early 2026, the February 15th closure date is an important detail to keep in mind. Anyone hoping to experience Typhoon Lagoon’s wave pool, Crush ’n’ Gusher, or tropical theming will want to plan their visit before mid-February. After that, Blizzard Beach will be the go-to option for water park fun, weather permitting (although, we’re not sure yet how long it will be open.)

As always, Disney’s water park schedules can be influenced by temperature and maintenance needs, so additional short-term closures are still possible depending on Central Florida weather. It’s still good practice to continue checking Disney’s official calendar closer to your travel dates for the most up-to-date information.

While Typhoon Lagoon’s seasonal closure may not be surprising, having a confirmed date helps travelers plan ahead — especially those trying to build water park days into winter and early spring vacations. While we don’t have an official reopening date just yet, if history is any indication, Typhoon Lagoon will return later in the year refreshed and ready for another season of splash-filled fun.
