Would I Pay to Stay Here Again? Absolutely Not. Fans Are NOT Impressed By This Disney World Hotel

Not every Disney World hotel might be a good fit for every guest, and this latest review proves that.

Coronado Springs

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is one of Disney World’s moderate-level hotels, featuring a mix of Spanish, Mexican, and Southwestern-inspired design. With multiple dining locations and a sprawling central lake, it’s a large resort that offers plenty of amenities. On paper, it checks a lot of boxes for a Disney resort stay. But for some fans, the overall experience falls flat.

One recent reviewer shared that Coronado Springs feels much more like a convention hotel than a Disney vacation destination. From neutral room colors and minimal Disney theming to the lobby filled with business travelers wearing lanyards, the resort struck them as “a completely standard (some might say elevated) chain hotel.”

They noted there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, if you’re someone who enjoys a more understated, professional atmosphere, Coronado might be perfect. But for those seeking Disney magic in every corner, this resort may feel surprisingly bland.

The reviewer made it clear that while they wouldn’t turn down a free stay if it was someone else’s dream hotel, they personally wouldn’t pay to stay there again. Why? Disney has so many other options that offer immersive theming, stronger transportation access (like monorail, Skyliner, or boats), and that intangible “vacation joy” that Coronado lacked for them. Their advice was to visit the resort during a future trip, see how it feels in person, and only then consider booking a stay.

So, who is Coronado Springs for? We’ve stayed here several times, and guests who enjoy a more upscale, subdued hotel experience with modern amenities may love it here. Business travelers attending conventions will find it ideal, and couples looking for a quieter Disney resort without too much whimsy might also appreciate the atmosphere. The resort’s wide variety of dining, including some of the best rooftop views in Disney, also appeals to foodies.

On the flip side, families with young kids, or guests who want that “Disney magic” from the moment they step into the lobby, may find Coronado Springs underwhelming. If bold theming, character touches, and lively resort vibes are important to your trip, you might be happier at other resorts like Disney’s Caribbean Beach, Disney’s Pop Century, or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Coronado Springs isn’t a bad resort by any means, it just isn’t the right fit for every Disney vacationer.

  1. Our biggest problem with our stay at Coronado Springs was the size of the resort. To take our resort mugs to get a refill, it was a 15 minute walk to the restaurant then another 15 minutes to walk back. Everything else was great but that was too much for us to go there again.

  2. I stayed here with my nine year old son and i’m a single dad. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We were there before the tower was built. I guess it was a different vibe back then. For me and my son having a great pool and slide were more important than disney theming. To get to our room , we had to walk on a long bridge over a lake. Don’t know if that’s still there but we had a great time. The room was very comfortable. I would definitely retun and recommend.

  3. I am a Disney person my husband goes because he knows I love it. We stayed here a few weeks ago and yes Disney is not everywhere but it was quiet and just what we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We would definitely stay again.
