To pay to skip the line or not to pay to skip the line, that is the question. When planning a Disney World vacation, you’re going to be faced with the question of whether you should spend your hard-earned money to save time in lines and potentially get on more rides.

This service, Lightning Lanes, is a great way to spend more time in the parks and avoid the 120-minute line you might have passed by. We keep track of all the different Lightning Lane prices so you can know the cheapest (and maybe less crowded) days at Disney World.
Let’s chat about the different types of Lightning Lanes before we get too ahead of ourselves. You might have heard of this as Genie+ or FastPass.

STEP BY STEP: HOW TO BOOK LIGHTNING LANES
The most “generic” Lightning Lane that will cover the most is the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This will get you on most rides at the park of your choosing. You’ll need to prebook your attractions, and passes for certain attractions may sell out, even if you’ve paid for the service.

The Lightning Lane Single Pass will help you skip the line for one attraction. Those attractions are:
-
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train — Magic Kingdom
- TRON / Lightcycle Run — Magic Kingdom
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — EPCOT
- Rise of the Resistance — Hollywood Studios
- Flight of Passage — Animal Kingdom

These are some of the most popular attractions, and if these are your favorites or ones you’ve been dying to ride on, grabbing a Lightning Lane Single Pass might be the way to do that.

There’s also the Lightning Lane Premier Pass that lets you skip the line at almost every attraction in one park. You don’t need to choose specific arrival times; instead, you can walk up and use it whenever you want. This is the most expensive option.

What days have the most expensive days to visit the parks? For Magic Kingdom, it will cost you $29 per day for a Multi Pass for the following dates:
-
- September 1st
- September 10th
- September 11th
- September 13th

Over at EPCOT, the most expensive day will cost you $24 on:
-
- September 1st

Hollywood Studios has its Multi Pass priced at $27 on their busy days in September, which include:
-
- September 1st
- September 12th
- September 13th
- September 14th

Animal Kingdom has its Multi Pass available for $19 on its most expensive days:
-
- September 1st
- September 6th
- September 7th
- September 16th
- September 17th

With the most expensive days, there must also be the cheapest days. These are the days that are likely to have fewer crowds and the cheapest passes.
Let’s take a look at the cheapest days in September for Magic Kingdom:
-
- September 4th
- September 5th
- September 7th
- September 15th
- September 16th

For the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can purchase it for $23. Lightning Lane Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is $11, and TRON is $19. The Premier Pass will cost $329.
For EPCOT, the cheapest days are:
-
- September 4th
- September 8th
- September 9th

Your Multi Pass will cost $17, and the Single Pass for Cosmic Rewine ranges from $16 to $17. Yes, your Multi Pass, which allows you to visit multiple attractions, will cost the same as one ride on Cosmic Rewind. The Premier Pass will cost $169 to skip every line.
Heading to Hollywood Studios? The cheapest days to buy Lightning Lanes are:
-
- September 4th
- September 5th
- September 6th
- September 7th
- September 8th
- September 16th
- September 17th

The Lightning Lane Multi Pass will cost $21 per day, and the Rise of the Resistance Single Pass will set you back $22 to $24 for one ride. Premier Pass is $269 or $289.
For our final park, Animal Kingdom, where all the passes are a little cheaper, the dates with the lowest costs are:
-
- September 3rd
- September 4th
- September 10th
- September 13th
- September 15th

The cost of September 15th is $15, while all the others are $16 for a Multi Pass. One ride on Flight of Passage costs $15 to $17, and a Premier Pass is priced between $129 and $139.
What if you’re not buying Lightning Lanes? Well, the pricing is based on demand, so typically the days with a lower cost mean they’re expected to be less busy. Disney tracks its own numbers and analytics on the number of guests each year, so it has a good idea of how many people to expect in the parks each day.

Whether you choose to buy Lightning Lane or head to the standby queue, September is a fun month in the parks with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select nights and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival all month long.
