We are so close to stopping into Disney’s newest lounge!

The Beak and Barrel in Magic Kingdom opens on August 29th, 2025. The new lounge will be a pirate tavern that will continue the story of Pirates of the Caribbean. If you’re looking to stop by and become one of the pirates, you can finally make a reservation…well, almost.
Starting today, August 14th, visitors are supposed to be able to make reservations for the Beak and Barrel! However, after several hours of trying to snag one, Disney has postponed when you can make reservations. Disney now says that they will be available “the week of August 18th.”

The new lounge will be located in Adventureland, where you can find bites, alcoholic beverages, specialty mocktails, and more.

The story behind the lounge is that a legendary pirate rumrunner called Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn established this “lively pirate pub.” Rummy, her first mate, will be the tavern’s quartermaster and keep an eye on the lounge from a roost at the top. Rummy might be retired from his journeys at sea, but he is going to make sure the tavern is in tip-top shape, and he’s going to share a few stories along the way.

There are going to be 3 different rooms you can dine in. The main dining room will be called The Mess. It was once a mess hall for Spanish soldiers, now it welcomes guests with long tables, “allowing for pirates to gather ‘round and tell their own tales.” You can also find the Captains’ Quarters, which invites guests to ” enjoy a taste of the finer life.”

Finally, there’s The Mapmaker’s Room. This lounge is family-friendly and will feature “tasty options for pirates of all ages — as well as refreshing cocktails for Guests ages 21 and up.” We’ve already gotten a look at the new menu coming to the lounge, and there are so many tentacles!

Disney has also confirmed that the new lounge will be open during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. If you’re looking to stop by during the after-hours Christmas party, reservations for Disney resort guests open on September 3rd! Reservations for non-resort guests open on September 8th.

We’re expecting reservations to be a tough grab for a while, so keep that in mind. Stressed about planning? Don’t be!
