Sony Just Shared a Mysterious Announcement, and Spider-Man Fans Are GLUED to Their Screens!

Did you know that today, August 1st, is a special holiday?

Well, it is for Marvel fans, because August 1st is National Spider-Man Day! We’re so looking forward to the newest Spider-Man film coming, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to release in theaters on July 31st, 2026, but now we’ve gotten a mysterious (and very ambiguous) sneak peek at the new film!

Sony Pictures just released a new nine-second teaser trailer that shows Spider-Man’s suit for the new film, which seems to be reminiscent of the classic red and blue Spider-Man costume, with black webbing details as a nod to the original comics. OK, Marvel fans…WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

If you remember, at the very end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, you can see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man swinging through the city in a new, bright red and blue suit, so this new suit tracks in the universe of the film series.

It was also revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that Mark Ruffalo, who portrays Hulk/Bruce Banner in the MCU, will also be returning to the screen to star with Tom Holland in the film! Michael Mando will also return as Scorpion, the villain character he first played in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Jon Bernthal is also on the call sheet to reprise his role as Punisher, so this is certainly one STACKED cast.

Believe it or not, that’s not all. Later in the day, Sony released ANOTHER 20-second video that shows us Tom Holland in the new suit — we’re loving it already!

That said, we still have a LOT of questions. Will the other Spider-Man characters from the Multiverse make an appearance in this movie? What will happen to MJ? Could we finally meet Gwen Stacy in this new movie? Ahh — the suspense!
