REVIEW: We Tried a Battered and Fried Nutella Banana in Disney World, and We Need To Talk About It

So it was no secret how excited we were about Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs finally bringing a location to Disney World. We’ve been big fans of Blue Ribbon in Disneyland, after all.

Now, we can get those amazing corn dogs anytime we want, including the controversial Pickle Corn Dog. However, Blue Ribbon just added two new snacks to its menu and we are now legitimately obsessed with them.

When Blue Ribbon announced an EXCLUSIVE Deep Fried Banana, aka the Banana Nutella Dog for the Florida location, we practically ran all the way to the BoardWalk to try it. It’s a banana dipped in corn meal batter, drizzled with Nutella, and topped with powdered sugar for $10. The banana is served as part of two, which makes it a little easier to eat. But you’ll still want to eat them pretty quickly because if they sit for too long, they’ll just kinda’ fall off the skewer.

So this is the snack for those people who love the Nutella waffles at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom. We thought these were delicious, although the banana was a little too ripe for our taste. That meant this was a super sweet snack, especially with the powdered sugar and Nutella. But we would order a dozen of these, so what do we know? We did see some people who were not sure how they felt about these, so this could be a divisive snack.

We also got to try the Nashville Hot Giant Mozzarella Stick, which is making its debut in Florida. For $15.50, you get the standard mozzarella stick covered in Nashville hot seasoning and served with ranch dressing and a bag of chips. First, this is nice and crunchy on the outside, with that melted cheesiness on the inside. But that bit of zing from the spice takes it up a notch.

Note that the heat from the spice will sneak up on you if you’re not prepared for it, so if you tend to stay away from spicy foods, you might want to opt for the regular Mozzarella stick that is also available here. The ranch dressing is creamy and offers a bit of cooling to the heat of the stick. It’s a sweeter ranch, though, and not like a buttermilk ranch dressing, which we would have preferred.
