The One Ride I REFUSE To Do At Epic Universe

Epic Universe is now open at Universal Florida!

Celestial Park

The brand new park has blown me away and made me feel things that have really surprised me! While I have loved 99% of the new park, there is one ride I literally refuse to ride at this point.

I have been lucky enough to go to Epic Universe several times already, and I’ve formed some strong opinions. I was blown away by the food and genuinely shocked that one of my favorite attractions is the Monsters Unchained ride.

The Ministry of Magic!

Out of the 12 rides in Epic Universe, I have had the chance to do all of them, but there’s one ride I just truly refuse to ride. Even with no wait, I chose to skip Fyre Drill in the Isle of Berk.

Fyre Drill!

This is a family-friendly water ride, so you might be wondering, “Why is this the one she refuses to ride?” All my life, I have absolutely hated water rides, and Fyre Drill might be the worst of them all. This ride lets you board Viking ships where you “outscore and out-soak” your opponents on the other ship.

A look at Fyre Drill

The ride lets you blast water cannons at flame-like targets to practice putting out fires, a pretty common occurrence when you live with dragons. I told myself it might not be that bad… but the only real reason to get on this ride is so you can get off soaking wet.

For the most part, you can see the entire ride in the picture above. It’s short, and one of the best things about it is that there is no height requirement, which is a rare thing with Universal attractions. If you’re looking to cool off, this is a great ride for you! If you’re anything like me and hate water rides with a passion, don’t try to convince yourself that you can get off the ride dry.

Me and Quincy in the Isle of Berk!

I just can’t see myself wanting to have soggy tennis shoes and wet shorts while I walk around a swelteringly hot theme park. I can feel the chaffing already, and it’s making me cringe! I’m describing my worst nightmare here.

Isle of Berk

Even over at Disney World, I very rarely ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and outright refuse to ride Kali River Rapids unless someone makes me. I’m sorry to Fyre Drill, I’m sure that some people will really love it. I am just not one of those people.

Other than Fyre Drill, I have loved the new attractions at the Universal park! The shows, food, and characters also made the park feel even more details and alive as you explore. I can’t wait to head back ASAP! As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Universal updates and hot takes.

  1. I couldn’t agree more. When we were at Disney’s California Adventure the only reason we rode Grizzly River Run was because we went to our room in the Grand Californian and put on our bathing suits, then promptly went back and changed back into our park clothes!
