This Is the Worst Universal Orlando Hotel Review We’ve Ever Seen

You’ve seen some rough hotel reviews before — but this one takes the cake.

Endless Summer Resort — Dockside Inn

We came across a Yelp review for Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites that had us doing a double-take. The hotel sits at 3.3 stars out of 5 based on over 220 reviews, but this guest gave it one star and did not hold back.

Here’s the full review from Mr. F. — and yeah, it’s a lot:

So… yeah. Not great.

This review is easily one of the most brutal we’ve ever seen for a Universal Orlando hotel — and we’ve read a lot of them. Mr. F. hits on a bunch of issues, but what really stands out is the way everything kept snowballing: a long wait for a room, tech problems that didn’t get explained, and staff interactions that clearly rubbed them the wrong way.

There’s a big difference between understanding that things don’t always go perfectly and feeling like no one’s interested in making it right. Mr. F. wasn’t just upset that his room wasn’t ready — he was upset that it seemed like no one cared. And for someone who says they’ve stayed at Universal properties more than 20 times in five years, that’s a red flag.

Now, let’s be clear — this is just one review. Dockside Inn and Suites has over 200 other reviews, and not all of them are like this. But it does highlight something that’s worth remembering when booking at a value resort.

These hotels are often more budget-friendly, but they also come with fewer bells, whistles, and — sometimes — lower service expectations. If personalized service and smooth communication are must-haves for your trip, you might want to consider one of Universal’s higher-end properties (like Sapphire Falls or Royal Pacific).

Still, stories like this one are why we always recommend arriving with some patience, a backup plan, and a little grace for things that might not go exactly as expected. That said, no one should have to deal with rudeness or a full-day room delay after a redeye flight.
