We prepared ourselves to wait in line on opening day for Epic Universe for all sorts of things, and we were prepared because we were right about which line would be the longest.

We got to experience a LOT of what Epic Universe has to offer in its rides and attractions, food, and entertainment during special previews prior to the park’s official opening. Now that the day is finally HERE for Epic Universe to fully be open, there’s one glaring problem we could have done without!
It’s finally time to throw open the gates of Epic Universe and welcome it into the fold of Universal Orlando’s other theme parks. While this park has unofficially been open for previews for a few weeks (giving us a chance to explore it all), we could have sworn we knew EXACTLY how to best prepare for anything opening day could throw at us.

However, we’re still shocked at the long lines for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic. Most recently, during early previews, we saw this line get up to 5 hours, and well, the line was already expected to be at 150 minutes when the park officially opened. By 9 AM, it had posted a 300-minute wait time.

However, the ride has been delayed this morning (and actually hasn’t opened at all yet), and a Universal Team Member told us they expected to see a five-hour wait time when it reopens.
Meanwhile, though, now is the perfect time to ride just about everything else in Epic Universe. In How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Hiccup’s Wing Gliders’ longest wait was at 20 minutes (but it has gone down to just 5), while Dragon Racer’s Rally and Fyre Drill both have 10-minute wait times. So if you’re needing to escape the chaos of the Ministry of Magic, go to Isle of Berk.

Over in Dark Universe, wait times for Curse of the Werewolf were around 20 minutes (and that later went down to 5), while Monsters Unchained just had wait times of 20 minutes. At Super Nintendo World, the highest wait time was for Mine-Cart Madness, which went from 45 minutes down to 25. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge had wait times averaging from 45 minutes to 15 minutes, while Yoshi’s Adventure just had 5 minute wait times.

Celestial Park is also nice and chill: Stardust Racers has consistently had 15 minute wait times throughout the morning. Constellation Carousel had a max wait time of 10 minutes.

We’re spending the ENTIRE opening day of Epic Universe inside the park! Be sure to check back in with us for even more hidden details, secrets, crowd coverage, and more!
