Rule CHANGE Revealed for Universal's Epic Universe Ahead of Opening

Universal Orlando’s new theme park, Epic Universe, is set to open SOON, on May 22nd.

Of course, some visitors have already had a chance to visit the new park thanks to early previews for Universal Orlando Annual Passholders. We even got a special tour of the park early on (but we’ve been back a few times since). Ahead of Epic Universe’s opening, though, we can confirm that something BIG is changing — the smoking areas for the park are being moved.

Yes, that’s right, the designated smoking areas at Epic Universe have changed. The only place where smoking will be allowed in Epic Universe is right outside the park exit by the bathrooms. So if you want to smoke while visiting Epic Universe, you’ll have to walk there to do so.

If you’re visiting Universal Orlando’s other parks, smoking will only be allowed in the following spaces:

Universal Studios Florida: Outside the park exit, to the left near the Studio Archway
Universal Islands of Adventure: Outside the park exit, opposite the Islands of Adventure lighthouse
Universal Volcano Bay: At the Wave Village (East)
Universal CityWalk: To the left of Red Coconut Club

This will essentially keep the parks and CityWalk mostly smoke-free. These new policies are already in effect as of now, so keep that in mind if you’re a smoker.
