Universal Orlando is on the precipice of one of the largest expansions in its history. Not only will the next few months see the opening of the highly-anticipated Epic Universe theme park, the resort has also added three new hotels: the Stella Nova Resort, the Terra Luna Resort, and our focus today: the Helios Grand Resort.

The new resort, which will tower over Epic Universe and provide its own entrance to the park, is described by Universal as, “a sunlit sanctuary, where light, life and laughter abound. Rising above the waters of Celestial Park at Universal Epic Universe, Universal Helios Grand Hotel is a majestic escape, where relaxation comes naturally. Beautiful details of celestial patterns and constellations adorn the hotel with a casual, elegant Mediterranean-inspired feel throughout.”
One of the highlights of the resort is the How to Train Your Dragon kids suites, which match with the new park’s Isle of Berk portal. According to Universal, these suites provide younger guests a place where they “can take to the skies and rest amongst dragons in a colorful room inspired by the Viking village of Berk.”
At first, the suite seems like any other room at the hotel with this modern Celestial Park kind of theme. There’s just a hallway leading into other rooms.

Even the bathroom seems pretty standard with modern fixtures and the like.

There’s a nice sitting area where you can watch TV without disturbing others.

But then you walk into the kids’ room (does it have to be the kids’ room, though?) and you see it. The room is themed to How To Train Your Dragon. It’s almost as if you’re sleeping in Berk. You’ll also see Toothless and Light Fury flying above the beds on a gorgeous mural. This room has two twin beds.

The other bedroom has a king bed and is decorated with some nice floral details.

One thing that you’ll love about these rooms is the view. The suites overlook Epic Universe (that’s because the hotel is inside the park).

The How to Train Your Dragon suites at the Grand Helios provide a kid-friendly element to Universal’s Helios Grand Hotel. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on Universal’s expansion.
