I Was NOT PREPARED for My First Time in Epic Universe — This Was the Biggest Surprise

Recently, I got to visit Universal Orlando‘s newest theme park EARLY!

I got to visit Epic Universe!

That’s right, I got to ride the new rides, try delicious food, meet characters, and explore this state-of-the-art theme park. Although Epic Universe will not be open to the public until May 22nd, 2025, Team Member previews are being held, and soon, Annual Passholder and other previews will take place.

I have been so excited to check out Epic Universe, and I was not prepared for how much I would love it!

Obviously, one of the most exciting aspects of this new park is all the rides and attractions. Monsters Unchained and the Dracula animatronic? Chefs kiss. Traveling by Floo Powder to get to the Ministry of Magic? AMAZING! Racing through Stardust Racers? Unbelievable. But there is so much more to this park than the rides, and that, to me, was the biggest surprise.

Floo Powder

Now, to start off, this is not a one-day park. Realistically, when the park opens, you should give yourself at least two or three days to explore if you want to see and do it all. This is because the park has state-of-the-art attractions, personal character interactions, and so many details. You genuinely feel like you are in a different world with each portal you step through and visit.

Why People Are Avoiding Epic Universe Until 2026

Mario Kart Bowsers Challenge

It was all the little things that really made this theme park feel like magic. When you visit, you will want to look closely at the windows for animatronics and other details. Everything inside the park feels like it has a purpose. There is so much to discover, like interactive features and playful surprises.

The details are incredible!

The character interactions here are next-level! Chatting with Ygor in Dark Universe or the twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut in How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk is so fun. Plus, you can meet both Toothless and Dart. So cool!

Overall, yes, the big rides are great, and I absolutely cannot wait to ride and experience them again — but the main takeaway is that Universal really nailed the feeling of being in a world and not just visiting a theme park. The level of detail makes the whole park feel alive; it is not just a thrill—it’s an experience. You really do feel part of each of the five worlds.

I was blown away by the details!

Like I said, you can’t experience everything in one day, and the good news is the AllEars team will be back at Epic Universe real soon, so make sure to continue to follow along!
