If you’re an avid rope-dropper at Walt Disney World, you’re going to want to know this game-changing hack!

Rope-dropping is something we love to do, and if you can do it right, you’ll love doing it too!
Tron Lightcycle / Run is one of the most popular rides at Magic Kingdom. Taking advantage of early entry and riding it before the wait times jump, is a must do! There’s only one problem — it’s not open for early entry.

Early Entry usually begins at 8:30 AM at Magic Kingdom. The park’s opening is usually at 9 AM. Guests in the park for early entry can ride attractions in two available lands — Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Except, Tron isn’t open at that time. Frontierland, Adventureland, Liberty Square, and Storybook Circus are also closed for early entry. Despite the closings, this is a great way to get on one or two popular rides without waiting.

So how can we use early entry to get on Tron? Well even though the ride won’t start running until the parks opening time, you can still lineup! Once you enter for early entry head over to Tron and get yourself in the queue line. When we got in for early entry, guests could start putting their items in lockers at 8:45 AM. At that point you’re basically ready to ride!

Early entry is a 30-minute window in which guests staying at Disney Resorts or some Good Neighbor Hotels, get to enter the park before it opens. It’s a great way to get on some rides before that morning rush at Magic Kingdom.

If you’re trying to take advantage of early entry, there are some other hacks you might want to know to make the morning go smoother. Make sure to pack your bag accordingly! Things like umbrellas, portable chargers, and metal glasses cases, can set off the metal detector. Pack your bag so that those items are easy to grab and pull out when coming through metal detection. Hold them directly in front of you so that security can see them, and you’ll reduce the likelihood of getting pulled aside for a bag check! Don’t waste any time on things you don’t needed to be wasting time on.

Another thing to note is you can get in your Starbucks coffee before rope-drop begins. Even though you won’t have access to the park before 8:30 AM, you will be allowed on main street a half hour before. That means you have access to Starbucks and other shops before your day starts. So, if you want Starbucks, get to the park extra early, and it won’t waste any valuable time.

Another small trick is to take the monorail instead of the ferryboat. Even though it’s not a massive difference, the monorail is slightly faster. And, hey, any time saved at Disney World goes a long way.

When rope-dropping, there are always lots of things you’re going to want to be aware of, in order to fully utilize the morning! Make sure to follow us at AllEars for more Disney tips, tricks, and hacks.
