REVIEW: We Will Never Look at a Strawberry the Same After Dining at This Disney World Restaurant!

It is strawberry season in Florida, and a popular Disney Springs restaurant is offering an exclusive experience to celebrate the season!

Jaleo by Chef José Andrés is hosting a Strawberry Festival or a Festival de Fresas to highlight the incredible flavor of strawberries. Jaleo is partnering with a local farm, Southern Hill Farms, to provide diners with the freshest strawberries for its unique dishes.

The Festival de Fresas runs from now through March 16th, 2025. Seven dishes are featured on the special strawberry-filled menu. We stopped by Jaleo to taste some of the creations, and we are bringing you along with us!

We are starting with the Texturas de Fresas for $16, which is a selection of strawberry spheres and cones. We thought this dish was really fun! There was a membrane around the spheres and cones that popped easily, and a smooth, velvety juice rushed out when you did. It was all the tastiness of a strawberry without having to chew.

We also tried the Cono de Queso azul “Mamá Marisa” y fresas, which you can get for $6. It is a cone of Mamá Marisa Blue cheese mousse, strawberry marmalade, and toasted pistachios. This one had lots of strong cheese flavor, and we enjoyed the sweet and savory components.

Up next, we got to try the Coca de queso idiázabal y mermelada de fresas. It costs $12 and is olive oil and rosemary cracker with strawberry marmalade and grated idiazabal cheese. We also liked the sweet and salty combination of this dish. The sweet jam and savory cheese gave us Monte Cristo vibes, although the sweet flavors are most prominent in this dish.

Now, let’s taste the Gazpacho de fresas, which costs $11. It is a cold soup with strawberries, tomatoes, cucumber, and green bell pepper. The flavor in this dish was very fresh, and it was the perfect combination of sweet and savory.

You can also try the Pinchos de fresas, sandía y tomate for $10. It consists of strawberry, watermelon, and tomato skewers with sherry dressing. The ingredients are fresh and complement each other well. The bite is tasty, although it wasn’t our favorite of the evening.

We also tasted the Ensalada de fresas, tomate, aguacate y queso de cabra, which costs $14. It is a salad of strawberries, tomatoes, avocado, goat cheese, and sherry dressing. We were huge fans of this dish. The fattiness of the avocado worked fantastically with the acidity of the strawberry and dressing.

Finally, we also tried the Fresas con nata for dessert, which costs $10. It is a traditional Spanish dessert: strawberries with cream. First, the strawberries in this dish are peeled, which was surprisingly delicious. The cream was soft and light, with a hint of orange liqueur. Both elements worked well together, and it made for a delicious dessert!

In addition to tasting some of the dishes from the Strawberry Festival menu, we also got to taste some of Jaleo’s other dishes, including the Endivias con queso de cabra y naranjas. The dish features endives with goat cheese, oranges, and almonds. We will likely be dreaming about these endives, that is how good they are!

As well as Croqueta de jamón “José’s Way.” It is a traditional fritter with a slice of Jamon Iberico de Bellota. These little guys are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

We also got to sample the Chuletas de Cordero which is Josper grilled “Lumina” New Zealand Lamb Chops with Rosemary Sauce and Honey Alioli. The meat was tender and the sauces complimented the meat well.

We also tried the Espinacas a la catalana, which is Sautéed spinach with pine nuts, raisins, and apples. This dish had lots of warm and comforting flavors.

As well, we got to taste the Lubina a la Donostiarra which is Whole Mediterranean Seabass cooked with traditional Basque sauce. This dish was garlicky and delicious!

We also got to try another dessert option, the Pan con chocolate. It is Chocolate custard with caramelized bread, olive oil, and brioche ice cream. It was very tasty and we loved the textures and flavors.
