Flying can be stressful even when everything is going right, and it only gets more confusing and frustrating when things start to go wrong.

Orlando International Airport

Most people traveling to and from Orlando travel through Orlando International Airport (MCO), so we keep an eye on what’s happening over there. And today, it looks like the airport is struggling BIG time, because we’re seeing tons of unusual cancelations and delays.

According to FlightAware, a website that tracks the status of flights all across the nation at different airports, MCO Airport has seen 408 flight delays and 52 cancelations today alone at the time of writing.

The majority of these delays and cancelations are from Southwest, Spirit, JetBlue, and American Airlines. In fact, over 30% of Spirit flights and over 40% of Southwest flights scheduled to fly in/out of the airport that day are delayed.

Delays and cancelations are always possible when you fly, so it’s important to prepare for the worst possible scenario to be as prepared as you can be. However, that doesn’t make the situation any less frustrating. Remember to be patient, even though it’s hard, and always be kind to airline employees — 99% of the time, they’re likely just as frustrated as you are, but can’t show it!
