Hope you’re paying attention because we have some BIG news to share! Disney just dropped a major announcement about an ongoing project, and we have the FULL details!

Buckle up, we’ve got important things to share!
Disney’s just announced a closing date for Muppet*Vision 3D!

We’ve known the end was drawing near for several Disney World shows, rides, and even lands for a while now. While some of these announcements were met with mixed reviews, other people were excited to hear that something new is in the works. But now, Disney has confirmed a timeline that shattered our Muppet-loving hearts.

Disney has reported that Muppet*Vision 3D will welcome its last visitors and close its doors for the final time on June 7th, 2025. During last summer’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we learned that a new project will take over this area. A newly themed Monster’s Inc. land is on the way, and Disney confirmed there will be a new roller coaster!

In fact, the entire Grand Avenue area will begin a phased closing in May, starting with Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano. The last day to dine at Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will be on May 10th, followed by the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo. On June 8th, the Muppets Courtyard will be totally blocked by construction walls.

This is certainly an announcement that has a bittersweet sting to it as we will miss our Muppet friends until they return (in a new way) at the re-themed Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster ride.

Why does WDW need a whole land themed to such a minor IP? Ridiculous.
