We Tried the NEW Happy Hour Menu at a Hotel Restaurant Near Disney World and LOVED IT

You’ll never look at Happy Hour at Disney World the same again.

New drinks!

Disney World is full of great restaurants between their parks, hotels, and even Disney Springs. We’re big fans of lounges and love a great happy hour, but sometimes finding the right vibe after a busy day in the parks is harder than it seems. If you’re willing to venture to the outskirts of Disney World AND try a restaurant backed by a celebrity chef, we’ve got just the restaurant you need to try next (and you won’t even have to leave the Disney World bubble to try it)!

If you’re more of the adventurous type looking for something out of the Disney World norm to help spice up your evening (or you’re an Orlando local –hey!), we’ve got just the place you need to mark down as your next trip! The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel is sitting right next door to Disney World.

Not only is it a stunning hotel to choose to spend your nights on your vacation (and your rest days between Disney World park visits), but it’s also home to a restaurant curated by a celebrity chef! Four Flamingos: A Richard Blais Florida Kitchen sits just outside the hotel’s tower and is a popular place to “flock” for an elevated dining experience.

Seriously, stepping into this restaurant feels like you’re stepping through to the back lanai of your personal Florida vacation home! The floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of natural light as the sun fades in the distance and the entire restaurant’s dining room overlooks the hotel’s sprawling natural landscape.

We were recently invited out for a preview of the revised Happy Hour menu that Chef Blais, his culinary team, and his mixologist have been working on, and let us be the first to say, that impressed was an understatement! They’ve added a full mix of new drinks and dishes to help kick that mid-afternoon slump and they were very excited to show them off to us (and let us try a few)! You can catch Happy Hour at Four Flamingos restaurant daily between 5-6 PM.

Since we were just getting started with the new Happy Hour additions, drinks were in order first! The restaurant’s resident mixologist, Kat, whipped up several of the latest additions and noted the inspiration behind the new cocktails came from putting a new spin on classic drinks that are known and well-loved. Some of the newest additions to be offered are the Raspberry Muerte, Pink, Dragon, Euphoria, Flamingo Sling, and the Fireside Sprig.

If you’re feeling something fruity but not looking for any alcohol to your drink there are also several new mocktails to try out as well!

MOCK-TAILS!

Since we had a big dinner experience ahead, we decided to try out the Raspberry Muerte and wow, was it THE choice! It’s got a vibrant presentation to it and is made of raspberry puree, Cointreau, citrus salt, and jalapeño infused maestro Dobel tequila.

Raspberry Muerte

Watch out for this one because it’s got a mild heat to it on the back end of your sip. This really kept the flavor interesting and we couldn’t get enough of the split rim’s lime and grapefruit flavors that made our mouths pucker a bit.

When it was time to move on to dinner we audibly gasped at the sight of so many new additions! During Happy Hour, you’ll have your choice of dishes like Smoked Tuna Dip, Shrimp Po Boy, Wagyu Burger, Filet Mignon, Ice Cold Oysters & Pearls.

Shrimp Po Boy

These new additions were inspired by the culinary genius of Chef Blais, along with Chef Josue Perez, and their team crafted to create meals that would make you feel like you were truly stepping into a Floridian kitchen. When we got to taste them, we couldn’t get over how easily you could cut open the Chilean Seabass…

…savored the juicy tenderness of the Wagyu Burger…

…and the Ice Cold Oysters & Pearls were a table favorite!

Obviously, we had quite the time trying to choose between which of these dishes truly reigned supreme for Happy Hour and you’ll have plenty of choices to have to make your own decision to try first on your visit!

Salmon Croquettas

Four Flamingos would make a great hang-out for anyone who’s looking for a very relaxed atmosphere to take in great food and drinks. We loved how open concept the restaurant feels and had a very hard time critiquing these new menu choices.
