Staying at a Disney hotel may have just gotten “suite-er”.

Disneyland just opened its doors to an incredibly themed addition of Disney Vacation Club villas and debuted an ambitious re-theme to a beloved resort. If the newest line of Disney hotel accommodations wasn’t quite what you were looking to stay in, don’t worry because there’s something BIG Disney just announced coming soon.
Disney has just announced that changes are coming to its Disneyland hotels. Refurbishments to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will begin soon for its hotel rooms which will also include the Disney Vacation Club Villas. Disney maintains that the new décor will complement the rooms’ existing Arts & Crafts motif found throughout the hotel’s theming, but will add “new bold colors” among the carpets, furniture, and bedding. These new updates will also feature accents “inspired by the beautiful California wildflower blooms” which are often found in Impressionistic plein air paintings. Perhaps the most notable of the updates though will come within the room’s artwork. Each room will have new pieces commissioned from local plein air painters.

That’s not the only change set in store for a Disney hotel, though! Disney has also confirmed that Pixar Place Hotel will add two new, two-bedroom themed premium suites, opening this summer. These rooms will immerse its visitors into the worlds of Coco and The Incredibles.

The “Coco” Suite, will feature “Oaxacan-style architecture” highlighting areas of the suite with terracotta tiling, Mexican artisan quilted and woven pieces, a fireplace, unique handcrafted wooden furniture, and touches of hand-painted art. The Coco Suite’s theme is inspired by the Rivera family’s hacienda from the film and you might spot a few family photos and mementos inside.

Likewise, “The Incredibles” Suite will also be highly themed. Is expected to feature a mid-century design with a “spy-fi” twist. Picking up from Incredibles 2, fans may remember Winston Deavor, the DevTech businessman and Superfan, who lends his home to the Parr family to live. With this suite, he has designed the perfect getaway for the family! The Incredibles Suite will include a primary bedroom for the parents, with a connecting room for Edna Mode (of course, designed by none other than Edna herself). Your story will start with a hand-scanning prop at the entryway, where the suite guests will encounter “Super-inspired touches and special effects” like a spy phone, hidden messages, a secret door, and other surprises!

These themed suites will be an addition to the hotel’s other room types currently available including standard rooms and one, two, and three-bedroom suites to accommodate various hotel guest needs.
