Why We Might Get Some HUGE Disney News Tomorrow

Walt Disney Company executives have been added to the lineup of featured speakers at the 2025 SXSW (South by Southwest) conference in Austin, Texas, and that’s a good sign there will be some BIG news coming soon.

SXSW is an annual conference that highlights film, technology, culture, and music. This year, the conference will take place from March 7th through March 15th, and the list of speakers has recently been announced, including two well-known Disney executives.

Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment Alan Bergman and Chairman of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro will be featured speakers during the 2025 SXSW Conference being held in Austin, TX. D’Amaro has previously spoken at these events and shared inside technology details from the company.

This year, the featured session that these two Disney executives will be presenting is called “The Future of World-Building at Disney.” The description for this session reads: “Disney tells stories fans love, invites them into worlds they never dreamed possible, and then makes those places real. In this presentation, co-Chairman, Disney Entertainment Alan Bergman, Chairman of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro, and special guests as they show the convergence of imagination, innovation, and the future of experiential storytelling.”

We have previously seen “Bluesky” concepts and technology shared by Disney at this conference. Some of these have included the rabbit robot that looks a lot like Judy Hopps from Zootopia, a life-size Hulk robot, and an interactive life-size Tinker Bell.

Disney has previously shared that it wants to continue to use more IP in the parks to create attractions, experiences, lands, and worlds that build on the stories we know and love. It is possible that this featured session will build on that idea, and the two executives may share new information and details about what’s coming to the world of Disney in entertainment and the parks.
