Renovations will soon begin on Terminals A and B at Orlando International Airport (MCO).

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority has planned more than $235 million in interior upgrades at MCO’s Terminals A and B. The extensive work will take place in phases, with construction on some projects beginning this year.
Work is expected to begin this year on the airside (the areas of an airport past security checkpoints) restroom renovation. This project will include upgrading the bathrooms and expanding them to meet current and future traffic demands. The restroom renovations are currently expected to be completed by 2027.

Looking farther down the line, interior refurbishments to the airside 1 and airside 3 buildings are expected to begin in 2026 with substantial completion in 2027. This project will upgrade the seating, signage, gate counters, lighting, and more to the airside buildings that serve gates 1-59.

In 2026, work will also begin on an internal refresh of the landside (pre-security) internal areas of Terminals A and B. This will include the baggage claim and rental car areas, and changes will include new rental car counters, seating, signage, and lighting improvements. Work is expected to be completed in 2028.

On top of these refurbishments, the Orlando International Airport will also start the first phase of concession changes in Terminals A and B, which will include spaces for several local and national restaurant brands, in the middle of this year.

By the middle of this year, work will also begin on a new $13.5 million parking guidance system, which will signal open spaces in all four of the airport’s garages, and will debut by 2027.

We’ll keep an eye on the refurbishment process once it officially begins, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates.
