A Popular Universal Orlando Ride Is CLOSING on February 1st

Toon Lagoon at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is about to look a little different. Soon, a popular attraction in Universal Orlando will close for refurbishment!

Universal Orlando just confirmed a new temporary closure that begins February 1st, 2025. We have all the details — take a look before your trip so you aren’t caught off guard!

A popular water ride known for making a BIG splash is closing for refurbishment at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge Rat Barges attraction will temporarily close on February 1st.

According to the Universal calendar, this ride will be closed for over one month. The ride is set to be unavailable from February 1st through March 15th, 2025. The good news is that this extended closure will take place over the winter, when most people tend to avoid water rides due to chilly temperatures in Orlando.

Here’s a full look at all the Universal Orlando closures in early 2025. Note that the Hogwarts Express will be temporarily closed for a big portion of January, and Universal Volcano Bay is reporting some temporary closures as well.
