This Is the BEST Disney News I’ve Seen ALL YEAR

There’s one thing special that happens in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that makes the park just that much more unique.

Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In Animal Kingdom, baby animals are born ALL the time, and eventually, you’ll even get to see them growing up in the park. Well, if you love baby animals, we’ve got some big news for you: some new baby otters have come into the world to call Animal Kingdom their new home.

One of Animal Kingdom’s Asian small-clawed otters, Mae, recently welcomed a litter of otter pups into the world. This species of otter is the smallest, so the pups are pretty tiny, but they’re very adorable. Mae has been busy taking care of her new babies backstage.

Disney has also stated that the babies’ dad, Kevin, is also helping take care of the newborns. Over the next few months, they’ll be going through several milestones in their journey to becoming adults. Their eyes will open, they’ll try solid foods, and they’ll learn to swim.

This particular species of otters is listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, so these births are helping bring more Asian small-clawed otters into the world.

You’ll be able to see the babies soon on Discovery Island, so be sure to check them out the next time you visit Animal Kingdom.
