We still can’t believe it is already 2025. Since we are definitely still struggling with writing 2025 as the date, we figured we might as well reminisce a bit more about 2024.
We are in the parks every single day and that means we sometimes learn some disturbing things. Let’s take a look at some of the disturbing things we learned in 2024!
Muppets Courtyard is going to be replaced. We are still coming to terms with this news, which is definitely a bittersweet moment. We are huge fans of The Muppets here at AllEars, and we are so sad that this area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is going to be replaced.
However, we are excited for the new Monsters, Inc. land that will be going in its place. The Muppets will also be moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, so they aren’t disappearing from Hollywood Studios forever. But still, we are truly going to miss the Muppets Courtyard area.
We also found a slice of cake on Disney World property that costs $24.99…for just one slice of cake. While it is a big slice, almost $25 for a slice of cake seems very steep. The slice in question is Gwendolyn’s Famous Earl’s Court Chocolate Cake. You can find it at The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk. This new restaurant finally opened after years of being under construction, and with its opening, it brought some high prices.
Many have criticized the restaurant for its steep prices, including a $12.99 Peanut Butter and Raspberry Jam Sandwich or an $8.99 piece of Warm Baguette. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, and we really enjoyed most of the dishes we tried. However, it is definitely an expensive option.
This popcorn bucket has grown on us a bit since we first saw it, but it is still a bit jarring to see. The Scary Teddy Popcorn Bucket was available at Disney World during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It was available at select locations throughout the park, and it was popular! Stands had sold out by 8:30PM the night we got our bucket.
Moving along from the Scary Teddy bucket, and onto a more serious note. Disney made A LOT of announcements this year, and we are super excited to see the new additions and expansions. From Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to new Cars attractions in Magic Kingdom and a VILLAINS land coming to Magic Kingdom, there is a lot to look forward to!
However, the disturbing fact about all these announcements is how many construction walls we will be seeing over the next few years. There will be a lot of construction going on, which means a lot of construction walls. So. Many. Construction Walls. We are looking forward to experiencing the final product, but the idea of Disney World covered in construction walls is not fun.
We also never thought we would end 2024 by saying that we now know what a Creepy Clam Flatbread tastes like. But, here we are. The Creepy Clam Flatbread was an exclusive menu offering at Pinocchio Village Haus during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It was a unique offering, and while it may not have been our favorite item we tried, it wasn’t as awful as we initially thought it would be!
We saved the most disturbing thing for last. Did you know that there are cadavers at Disney World hotels? According to Reuters, Disney rents space to physicians so they can train on cadavers and body parts. During medical conferences, doctors practice procedures on cadavers inside various locations, including Disney hotels. So, while the cadavers aren’t hiding in the walls, if you are staying at a hotel with event spaces, there may have been a cadaver there at some point.
We are always learning something new about Disney World, that’s for sure! We had so much fun bringing you all the Disney World tips, tricks, and news in 2024, and we are so excited about what 2025 has in store!
