We are eagerly awaiting the opening of Epic Universe. It has been YEARS since we first learned of Universal’s plans to bring an entirely new theme park to Orlando.
We are getting closer and closer to opening day, but we have a few concerns about the parking situation at Epic Universe.
Epic Universe is officially opening on May 22nd, 2025! We have been watching the progress on this new park closely and are SO excited to experience everything it has to offer. Epic Universe is Universal’s brand-new theme park that will feature five themed lands, three hotels, shopping, dining, and so much more.
You will be able to explore lands themed to How to Train Your Dragon, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Nintendo, and more. Fans are excited to check out this new park, but will it cause some parking chaos?
While there will be parking available at Epic Universe, there are a few concerns that might make parking a bit difficult. First, we have seen some aerial photos of the parking being built at Epic Universe and one of the first things we noticed is that parking is just a flat lot. Universal Orlando’s current location, where you will find Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk, and Volcano Bay, has two large parking garages to accommodate visitors.
However, Epic Universe will only consist of a parking lot that does not look as big as Magic Kingdom’s or EPCOT’s parking lots. The parking lot is not small by any means, but it is hard to tell how many cars will be able to fit and whether the parking lots will be able to meet the demand for parking. Disney World utilizes parking lots for all of its theme parks, so it is possible to meet parking demands with lots. The only location where Disney World has parking garages is at Disney Springs.
We are a bit concerned about whether the parking lot will meet demand. We are curious if the lots will be big enough or if guests will need to park at the garages and utilize buses to get to Epic Universe. Only time will tell, but we are definitely hoping the parking lots will be big enough, and visitors won’t have to worry about parking offsite and then taking a bus to Epic Universe.
Secondly, we feel that Epic Universe will cause some parking confusion for guests. Currently, you park at one location to access ALL of Universal’s offerings. The garages provide access to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk, and Volcano Bay via shuttle bus. You will park your car in the same garages no matter what Universal attraction you visit.
This simplifies visitor parking, but Epic Universe is farther away from Universal’s current attractions. It is about a 15-minute drive away from Universal Orlando Resort. Universal has stated that there will be a bus service between the two locations, but we have a feeling that people may end up parking in the wrong spot. Adding an additional bus ride after you have already parked will take away time from your day. We hope that visitors will take the time to research the parking situation, but it could cause chaos for people trying to get to the correct location.
We will be bringing you all the tips for visiting Epic Universe, including all the information about the parking situation in May. Want to learn even more about Epic Universe? Check out Quincy’s complete tour of what to expect at Epic Universe next year:

Epic Universes’ lot may be smaller than MK’s and EPCOT’s lots, but those Disney parks are much larger than Epic Universe will be. There is also additional parking for guests of the Grand Helios adjacent to Epic Universe, and those guests will have no need to use the day guest lot.
